Poorly girl

So we've arrived at the house but Em is not feeling good at all. She's quite pale, not eating and very lethargic. All she wants to do is lay around on the sofa so as we have no pressure to do anything else we let her do just that.

We spend our time on the balcony enjoying the winter sun. It's a comfortable 24C but on the balcony with no wind it really gets you sweating. It properly feels like a holiday now reading in the sun although not for poor Emily. You know she's bad when she turns down chocolate!

We do have to venture out once to the Park View Plaza to get some supplies. We chose to shop in Aldi and although it's not massive it has all we need to keep us going with evening meals and packed lunches as well as a few (a lot) treats and a small amount of alcohol.

As we're stuck in the house whilst Emily recovers I thought I'd try out a run around the area to suss it out. My plan is to find the local beach and run across it. It turns out the beach is very close but it isn't really a swimming beach as there is a large shelf and this causes large waves to dump on the beach. In fact the area we are staying in is called Korora and which is an Aboriginal word meaning"where the waves make a loud noise" and that is certainly true as there is a constant roar of waves crashing onto the beach. The sand is on a slope and pretty soft which makes it difficult to run on. One end of the beach where the lagoon meets the sea has some steps up the cliff to continue the coast path which gives a very good view back over the beach. Running back to the house is pretty much all uphill and although it's only a short run it was one of the toughest I've ever done.

Hopefully Em will recover soon and we can get out and explore some more.
