Off to paradise

Another travel day. This time we left the apartments in the morning and made our way to Brisbane airport. The roads around the city are pretty manic but on a Sunday morning it was plain sailing and we got to the domestic terminal and parked easily and with plenty of time.

The airport is quite large but very spacious and comfortable. No hitches and we boarded our little Dash 8 plane for the trip to Hamilton Island. Flying over the sea you could see the 74 islands that make up the Whitsundays all sparkling with golden beaches and blue seas. It looked truly stunning from the air. As we approached the airport ready to land you could see a golf course cut into an island opposite. I'm not a golfer but that would be a hell of a place to play a round.

It was all very efficient getting us to the hotel, a quick check in at the desk for a baggage label and then the short bus ride to the hotel to check in. The bags come up later so we headed straight off to the beach for a sunbathe and a paddle board before the sun disappeared.

After a quick shower and change we hopped on the free green bus to the marina for something to eat and a quick look around the small town. Kids eat free on our package and you can just charge most things to our hotel. I think we'll enjoy these few days here, it all seems geared up to a relaxing time.
